My Story
Heya, I am Maria and this is my first race since I finished Couch to 5k and I am properly exited about it. I am very keen on fighting cancer and doing my small part by being a PhD student in cancer diagnostics area. Cancer is one of the leading causes of mortality, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. Unfortunately, 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime so let's do something about it! Cheers, <3

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
