My Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I am walking (not running!) the 5k Race for Life on Clapham Common on Saturday 27th May at 11am. Sarah was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in July 2015. Following major surgery in August 2015, followed by chemotherapy and anti-angiogenic therapy, she had three months treatment-free and is now on second-line chemotherapy. John had a rare type of cancer - a chordoma - on the base of his spine. Following major surgery in March 2016 to remove the apple-sized tumour, along with a large proportion of his coccyx and sacrum, he now has regular MRIs to check for any recurrence. I have a number of friends receiving treatment for a range of cancers currently - bladder, breast, myeloma, ovarian and prostate - and am walking for them too. Donate to Cancer Research UK via my page and help make new and better treatments for cancer a reality. Spectators and cheerleaders at the Clapham race are most welcome. I will be wearing a pink 'race for life' t-shirt. Sarah will be providing refreshments afterwards, at her house, for any of you who come to support me! Just let us know in advance that you will be coming :-) Very many thanks in advance for any support that you feel able to give me. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
