My Story
I will be running in the London marathon on April 28th 2019 and hope you can sponsor me for Cancer Research charity. There are more than 360,000 people diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK, that's one person every two minutes. My father was one of them and passed away several years ago from bowel cancer. After entering the ballot for the first time, it came as a shock to win a place especially after a friend has been applying for 9 years unsuccessfully; I wish I had brought a lottery ticket instead. This will be my 2nd marathon and hope to complete it within 4 hours after swearing never to do another marathon the 1st time. Since finding out my success last Oct, I have ran 668.14 miles in the sun, wind, cold, rain and hail. Since I started working in my new place last Nov I have managed, with a lot of pain, sweat and hardship, to eat 106 packets of biscuits, now eating 3 course meals for lunch and put on 3.6 kg. Just too many temptations at work! Mmmm Chocolate chip cookies. Any donations are greatly appreciated, big or small it all count!
