My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. My Father-in-law passed away 26th May 2017 from lung cancer. He as a lovely man who welcomed me into his family from the first day I met him. My son's adored him. He would often come and watch them play rugby. Cancer is a nasty illness that that strips away at you until you are a shower of your former self. By donating to cancer research helps raise more money in order to try and find cures. My father-in-law wasn't so lucky, like many more out there. But the more we raise the more chance there is of finding a cure.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
