My Story

Thanks for visiting mine and Kim's fundraising page. In July, 2024, I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer and started my journey to beat this! First round of chemo left me feeling poorly and on the 16th October 2024 I was hospitalised after suffering a ruptured Bowel ... my body was weak and in Septic Shock. After emergency surgery and being placed into a 3 week coma, I fought hard and after 9 weeks in hospital, came out Bowel Cancer free. Due to being in a coma for so long,my muscles were weak and I had to learn to walk and use my arms again. Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton were amazing, but my gorgeous 2 sons were incredibly supportive, Arch who sat by my side each day when i was in the coma and Eric who kept encouraging me to take a step forward or brush my hair. These 2 were, and always will be the ones who keep me moving forward each day 💙 💙 I'm currently dealing with secondary Cancer in my liver, but hey, I probably need a new liver anyway 🍸 🍷 😃 So what better way to get fit for my next operation than to become a Bowelbabe and raise money for Deborah's charity, Bowel Babe Fund UK. My sister Kim and niece Nicky have also taken on the challenge and will join me in walking the 44 miles throughout the month ... sisters and niece are doing this!!!
