CRUK Manchester Institute appeal

The world-renowned Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute recently succumbed to a large fire, the cause of which is currently being investigated. While the full extent of the damage is still being assessed, it is clear that it will take some time and considerable resource to get the pioneering facility back on its feet. Based within the University of Manchester, the institute is home to some of the charity’s brightest researchers who work tirelessly to develop more effective and kinder treatments for cancer patients across the UK and worldwide. Last year Cancer Research UK spent around £22million on wide-ranging research carried out in Manchester, including pioneering projects tackling hard-to-treat diseases such as pancreatic and lung cancer.
