This October 30th me and my son Greg will be taking on the challenge of a 10km Halloween twilight walk across the busy streets of Manchester in the hope of raising some much needed money for Cancer Research UK and those effected by Bowel Cancer in particular. This is something which has touched my life in recent times, and whilst there appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel for me I am fully aware I am one of the lucky ones. Over the past 12 months I have gone through a physical and mental rollercoaster and without the help and support of the fantastic nurses and doctors I have had the pleasure of meeting during a dark period, I can quite honestly say I would not be here today on the road to recovery. Although the road is still a little rocky; I would like to take this opportunity to give back to a charity which has helped me immensely along the way.
