My Story

I imagine if you're here reading this then you already know the story - most of us have either been affected personally or by knowing someone with cancer - so I won't go on too much. I just wanted to share why I'm cashing in a favour to ask you all for some support on this one. I'm doing this for everyone with cancer but especially for my mum, a walking miracle and an absolute inspiration, who, at almost 82 years old, is surviving her third cancer - including a relentless, aggressive B-cell lymphoma - and still manages to get to bingo every Thursday. And I'm doing it for my friend Daniel, who's fighting that same lymphoma - and for his two beautiful, young kids and incredible wife who all deserve many more years of happiness together. Both of them have received treatment that simply wouldn't have existed a few years ago - cutting-edge care that's only possible because of research funded by events just like this one. I'll be walking 10k, at night, around Leeds alongside Daniel’s wife and a few others who care just as much, to raise whatever we can for the research that's given both my mum and Dan a fighting chance. So please, I know we're living in a time where even an Asda shop can break the bank, but if you've got a few quid going spare that isn't already earmarked for a bill, I'd be so grateful if you could send it our way instead.
