Maisie's Race for Life

This July I am taking part in the Race for Life in London. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. But unfortunately for me, like many others, Cancer hits very close to home. In November 2018, my dad was sadly diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, which he has been battling ever since. As a result of this he has been making regular visits to different hospitals and been receiving various forms of treatment. Although this is something that has had a huge impact on us all, he has been determined to not let this beat him. He has been so so brave and everyday his positivity just amazes us. He has been truly incredible and we are behind him every step of the way x Not only this, in the past few years my Nanny and Grandad also have been fighting against cancer. Sadly in August 2016 I lost my Grandad after his long battle with Mesothelioma and we have missed him dearly ever since. My Nanny is also currently battling against breast and bone cancer, and she continues to inspire us everyday with her strength. I love my Dad, Grandad and Nanny so so much and I really couldn't be any prouder of them all. Now I want to make them proud, and so I am taking part in this Race for Life 10k. Not only am I doing this for them, but also for all the other people who are suffering or know someone who is suffering with cancer. We must remember that we can beat it together x 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
