My Story
In December of 2025, Jack and I will be taking part in a mixed doubles HYROX over in Stockholm, Sweden, in memory of Luke Hart and in support of The Luke Hart Foundation. Luke was an incredible friend to so many of us, and the memories of being with him we will carry for life. I have countless incredible recollections of Luke growing up, for which I am eternally grateful. Luke was one of the bravest, kindest, and most generous people I have ever known, and I am so lucky to be able to have had such an amazing relationship with him. Growing up with the Hart family was indescribable. The positivity and joy for life that they have is something that I try to keep with me every day. Ruby is a sister to me in every way. We have been by each other's side in every stage of life. Through the most difficult times of her life, she still entered every room with an infectious smile on her face, one loved by all. She is an inspiration to me, and I am so proud of her, Sharon, Sam, and all the family. This is my way of giving back and showing what this family means to mine. Jack's message: I sadly never had the chance to meet Luke, but I have so often heard him described as someone who could light up a room the moment he walked in. A devoted family man whose kindness and generosity are truly inspirational to all who knew him. It is an honour to be fundraising in his memory for The Luke Hart Foundation and Cancer Research UK, supporting Maisie and the Hart family, in one of his favourite places, Stockholm, Sweden. We chose to complete a HYROX to challenge ourselves in many different ways, both mentally and physically. Luke was so incredibly tough through his battle with cancer, and we wanted to raise money in his memory that goes towards raising awareness for these rare cancers, to hopefully help the amazing people at Cancer Research UK to save lives. What is a HYROX? HYROX combines both running & functional fitness stations, where participants run 1 km, followed by 1 functional workout station, repeated eight times. We aim to complete the HYROX in under 1 hour 20 minutes. The HYROX will run as follows: 1 km run, 1000-metre ski-erg, 1 km run, 50-metre sled push (152 kg), 1 km run, 50-metre sled pull (103 kg), 1 km run, 80-metre burpee broad jumps, 1 km run, 1000-metre rowing, 1 km run, 200-metre farmer's carry (2x 24 kg), 1 km run, 100-metre sandbag lunges (20 kg), 1 km run, 100 wall balls (6 kg). Any donations would be hugely appreciated! Thank you so much to everyone who donates to this great cause.
