My Story
For over twelve years I have been participating in the Race for Life. Each year when I have completed the 5km I think “that’s it, I’m hanging up my running shoes” because my body reminds me that I’m not getting any younger! However, the news that yet another person I care about has cancer prompts me to enter again. Cancer is indiscriminate and cancer is relentless. The only way I know to help is to try and raise money for Cancer Research UK. Many, many years ago I was heartbroken as I watched my dad suffer with this terrible disease but now, thanks to Cancer Research UK, far fewer people succumb and far more people survive. That’s why my running shoes will be donned once again on 3rd June and I’ll be attempting to finish the course in the best time I can. I’ll be going into this race wholeheartedly so that I truly earn any sponsorship that I get. Maybe you’ll think about it? Thank you! xx
