I’m determined to drag myself round 26.2 miles to do what I can to save lives in the future.

My Story

I don’t have enough fingers and toes to count the number of family members, friends and colleagues who have been touched by the horrors of cancer. Be that fighting against it themselves, living with it or watching this horrible disease slowly steal a loved one from them. I’m no doctor, nurse or scientist who is making a real diffference to cancer sufferers and their families on a daily basis. However I can run, so committing to run my first marathon, for ScottishPower on behalf of Cancer Research UK, is my way of doing my bit for my amazing, courageous friends who have refused to let cancer win.

CAUSE

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
