My Story
My name is Luke, when I was just over 2 years of age I was diagnosed with a Wilms tumour. It was July 2012 when it all began, I had no symptoms or pain just a lump to my left side. After going to my GP, I was referred to Warrington Hospital, who completed numerous tests and they then referred me to Alder Hey in Liverpool. After more tests, the results confirmed a Wilms tumour on my left kidney. And so I commenced chemotherapy and I had surgery in August to have my left kidney removed, followed by more chemotherapy. All the Doctors,Nurses and other staff who have looked after me have all been fab and really friendly Fast forward 5 years and I am now like any other 7 year old, and look forward to marking my 5 year anniversary of being Cancer Free in August.
