My Story
After a year where vital cancer trials have been delayed, the Race for Life is more important than ever. That's why I'll be taking part in a Very 2020 Race for Life. Every pound you can donate will go towards Cancer Research UK’s ground-breaking work, so please sponsor me today! We won’t let 2020 stop us. In 2006, unfortunately my Grandpa sadly passed away due to cancer. More recently in 2018, my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. This year, it was my goal to run the Race for Life as a 'thank you' for all the support she was given, and to support other people like my Mum. My Mum was amazing through her treatment, thanks to the support network of the Breast Cancer care team, and family and friends. Due to the continuing research that is being carried out each and every day, our family are more than lucky that she is so strong and here carrying on through 'normal' life! I am far from a runner, but getting up early in the morning and running before the day begins is nothing compared to the treatment my Mum, and other women and men go through each day.
