Cancer is happening every day right now, it touches family, friends, children, work colleagues and beyond which is why I'm taking part again in Race for Life 5k. My sister was diagnosed with liver cancer last year and we lost our mother to leukaemia. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. So just donating a pound can make a difference to Cancer Research UK’s ground-breaking work. Plus this is the 9th year the Russell Square Ramblers have trotted this 5K race, so please encourage me now!

Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
