My Story
Me and my mum, Linda Woodhouse, will be taking part in race for life this year on Sunday 30th June at Stoneleigh Park. This will be my 4th time completing the race; having done it last year I never in a million years thought I would be running it this year for very different reasons. Back in November Steve was diagnosed with bowel cancer which of course was a massive shock to us all and just goes to show that cancer has no limits, this is a guy who works out 4 times a week, looks after himself and is only 49 years young (he told me to say that 😂)he had no symptoms and went for tests only to rule out the big "C". Thankfully he is now on the road to recovery but has been through a major operation in January and then on to have a 6 month course of chemotherapy which hopefully he will finish in August. I have seen first hand how cancer doesn’t discriminate through losing my dad aged 2, my step dad 11 years ago and seeing good friends and family going through breast cancer and having preventative surgery to prevent the likelihood of cancer cutting short their lives, let’s beat this together! Please donate whatever you can however small that may be, it would mean the world to me and all donations will be going to Cancer Research UK in support of Becky Cullen and her fundraising tea party on Saturday 13th July.
