In memory of
Vicki
Cancer sucks and we need to raise money to help beat it........ In 2014 myself and my friends raised £500 for cancer research doing a moonlight walk. Our friend Vicki (Vix) had been diagnosed with lung cancer and just a few weeks after surgery I thought it would be a good idea to drag her round a charity walk.....Vix being Vix nodded and agreed to my idea. She even went along with the idea of wearing a bright coloured wig. “Ok Huck, If you say so ” were words that you’d often hear her say. Sadly earlier this year Vix lost the battle and her body just couldn’t fight anymore. Vicki was one of the kindest, gentle, caring, laid back people you could ever wish to meet, and I’m proud to say she was my friend. So if running a few miles can raise some money in her honour then I will. Cancer has also struck in my family, thankfully my grandad received the treatment he needed and is still with us today. My nan after reaching the fantastic age of 95 has been told she has it and still battles on. So this race is for you 3. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
