Women's Cancer Challenge 2020
Sat 16 May 2020 - Sun 17 May 2020
The annual Women’s Cancer Challenge is usually the biggest sporting participation event in the Western Isles. Usually it's held in the castle grounds, Stornoway, but this year it will be completed individually. This actually makes it easier for me dealing with my fatigue because I don't have to factor in all the travelling to! It takes place on Saturday 16 May, at 12pm. I will be walking at least 5km locally, knowing that at the same time many other women across the islands will be doing the same 😁 My principal reason for doing this is to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK, in acknowledgement of the incredible fight my beautiful friend Anisha Vanmalli has been making as stage four breast cancer does its worst. She is an amazing lady who I love dearly. It is also for the other amazing ladies I ve met through my own cancer journey who are also now battling stage 4 disease. Although nothing can be discovered in time for Ani, I know that Cancer Research UK is a charity dear to her heart as she hopes that in time others will not have to go through the same as herself and her family.
