In July 2016 at the age of 35 I was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer after finding a lump. 2 months later my Mum was diagnosed with ....... yep, breast cancer. After 4 months of gruelling chemotherapy, 20 sessions of radiotherapy and hormonal therapy for the next 10 years I've made a vow to myself to get fit and give back. I'm going to give this running malarkey a whirl in order to do my bit for cancer research. I've had more than enough of this horrid disease as have my friends and family. My partner in crime on the day will be my lovely friend Sarah who lost her 38 year old sister in law Penny to malignant melanoma just a few months ago. I'll be running in memory of my Grandad who battled throat, bladder and prostate cancer and I'll run (ok, walk/jog) in celebration of the amazing cancer warriors in my life: Mum, Hannah and I suppose myself. So if you can spare a couple of quid for 'The Tumournators', then I'd be really grateful. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
