My Story
On Boxing Day, 2025, my family was rocked with the news that my mum had been diagnosed with leukaemia. The progress she has made in her fight against cancer has left us all incredibly proud of her resilience and the woman she is. But the fight itself is one that nobody should have to go through anymore. So, as an out-of-shape, bone-idle young man, I am opting to drag my lumpy carcass around Nottingham to raise money to fight against all types of cancer, using maybe only <1% of the strength, energy and courage my mum has shown since Christmas. Hopefully she gets better presents this year. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour.
