‘Team Grandad’ are running/jogging/walking the 10K in Aberdeen to raise awareness of Polycythemia vera - a slow growing blood cancer.
‘Team Grandad’ are Louise, Carolyn, Cole, Clara, Kyle, and Lucy. We want to raise awareness of Polycythemia vera - a slow growing blood cancer in which your bone marrow makes too many red blood cells. These cells thicken your blood, slowing it’s flow. Complications include blood clots which can lead to a heart attack or stroke. We didn’t know about Polycythemia vera until it affected our Dad and Grandad. We want to do something to help Cancer Research to find a cure. If you can spare just a small amount to help, we would be forever grateful and promise to do our best on 9th June. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
