Cancer is affecting everyone in some way is difficult for everyone involved. My beautiful and brave sister was diagnosed with cervical cancer last October. This type of cancer isn't detected through smear tests until its advanced. Sharing her story might help other woman to get checked out if they experience abnormal bleeding or think something is not normal for them. She had to have 6wks of radiotherapy, chemotherapy and 3 sessions of brachytherapy. Adenocarcinoma which is less common than squamous cell cancer. About 2 out of 10 (20%) cervical cancers are adenocarcinomas. This type of cancer can be more difficult to find through cervical screening because it develops inside the cervical canal. It’s important to be aware of any symptoms, so you can get them checked out. 6mths later my beautiful and brave sister inlaw was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. She underwent an 8.5hr operation to remover her thyroid and a neck dissection to remove 29 lymph nodes, then iodine radiotherapy. I have lost many friends from this cruel disease and I am doing this for each and everyone of them too. ❤ 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
