My Story
On 5th November 2016 our world came crashing down. After a short and strong battle with stage 4 Lung Cancer, Grandy Cliff passed away. This man was the centre of my whole world. When I was a little girl I came home from school crying because the children teased me because I didn’t have a dad. From that day on my Grand became my Dad and my Grandad and so much more. He was my best friend. We spoke every day. No subject I couldn’t discuss. Nothing he would not do. I was lucky for every day we had him. He walked me down the aisle, he met and idolised all my children. He demonstrated a strong work ethic and worked himself right up until his diagnosis. He is and always will be my hero, the person who taught me to raise my family, and my best friend. After Grand passed away, and then my beautiful Nan his wife 10 months later, I became unwell. I struggled with the massive loss and change in my life. It was a struggle to function without them and stay positive and focused for my husband, children, and family. And so I started to run. I am not a natural runner and have never liked exercise. This will be a massive challenge, but I do it in memory of him and every other family touched by Cancer. So here goes. I am taking on a 10K to raise money for cancer research! A massive ‘F You’ to Cancer!! If you spare anything at all please do. 💖
