My Story
In 2024, I will be doing 10 events and challenges throughout the year to raise money for Cancer Research UK. This is in aid of marking the 10 year anniversary of losing my mum to breast cancer when she was 49 years old. The past 10 years have been filled with highs and lows but the strength and positivity Bee brought to her family and friends even at her toughest of times have inspired me to do these events. A lot of the events have been inspired by her to continue her fundraising efforts and also bring together family and friends who have been the most amazing support network over the past 10 years. The family photos show a glimpse of the amazing childhood and memories we had with mum as well as her love for travelling and infectious smile. Some of the sporting events will certainly be a challenge, but I'm luckily to be doing a lot of them with family and friends, including Cameron and Dad by my side. The London Marathon will probably be my toughest event but made very special with it falling on what would have been mum’s 59th birthday weekend. Any support is massively appreciated and joining me in an event encouraged! The 10 events include: 1. Richmond Half Marathon (21km) - 18th February 2. London Marathon (42km) - 21st April 3. London Half Marathon Walk (21k) - 18th May 4. Abersoch Triathlon (1.5k swim, 40k cycle, 10k run) - 22nd June 5. JLL Sprint Triathlon (750m swim, 20k cycle, 5k run) - 29th June 6. Nottingham Ladies Walk and Coffee Morning - June TBC 7. Three Peaks Challenge (Ben Nevis, Scaffel Pike and Snowdon) - August TBC 8. Nottingham to Cleethorpes Bike Ride (112km) - September TBC 9. Battersea 5/10k - September TBC 10. Holme Pierrepont Water Sports Centre Santa 5k Run - December I would be very grateful for any donations to support the amazing work that Cancer Research do as the world's leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research, influence and information. They support research into all aspects of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses to prevent cases like ours. I look forward to seeing a lot of you throughout the year and thank you for all your support and donations now and over the past 10 years. Lou xx
