2022 London Landmarks Half Marathon
Sun 3 Apr 2022 - Sun 3 Apr 2022
I'm back in my running trainers. And this time around, I've actually stuck to the plan
My Story
So a good few failed attempts at sticking to a training plan later, I've finally done it - I have completed an entire training plan from start to finish*. I've spent the last twelve weeks running four times a week, on treadmills, through garden centre car parks, with hangovers, up disgustingly long hills, in sleet, torrential rain and wind. And I'm on the cusp of running this half marathon in a semi-decent time. And just in case you still needed some convincing before parting with that fiver, here's how the money raised can help: £300 - covers the cost of a trial for a day to improve treatments for patients for prostate cancer £400 - buys a research tool to help find out information about our DNA, so scientists can find cancer-causing mutations £500 - runs the Cancer Forum for a day, helping people through a very difficult time by giving them someone to talk to *Ok, so I may have missed four runs out of 48, but who's counting?
