Well here I am about to do a half walking marathon. Wow who had thought it! I have always watched the London Marathon and been in total awe of the people that run it. I have had a few friends do it and always been impressed. I knew I could never do that but maybe I could do a half marathon walk so here I am about to take one on. I have been busy training and it didn't take me long to realise 13 miles is a long way - gulp! Anyway, I know I can do this mainly because all the shops will be shut by the time I start so I won't get distracted! :-) On a more serious note cancer affects 1 in 3 people so most of you will know someone affected by it. I know I do, so I am even more pleased that I am doing this. This disease is affecting far too many people and we need to find someway of stopping it in its tracks. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there.
