My Story
As some of you may know we sadly lost Aunty Stephanie last year after a very brave and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She had previously had breast cancer, fought and won that battle! In the summer my mum and sister tested positive for BRCA1 gene meaning they have a higher risk of contracting both breast and ovarian cancer. They will both bravely undergo preventive surgery this year. This is the gene that Aunty Stephanie had but unfortunately was detected too late. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
