Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This February I’m ditching the sweet stuff and giving up sugar for a whole month to raise money for Cancer Research UK and helping to beat cancer sooner. For those that know me well, will know that this is going to be a real struggle. I have a very sweet tooth, and don't remember a day without having a biscuit or some form of chocolate! How do you get through a day without it? The reason I'm doing this is that my sister Lori (23) was diagnosed just before Christmas with Hodgkin Lymphoma. Lori was advised after a scan, that it had spread throughout her lymphatic system in her upper body including her chest, under arms and neck, with a large tumor in her chest. She was also told it had spread into her lungs. Lori was told that the chemo could damage her fertility and considered removing some of her eggs, this would delay her chemo by several weeks. Due to the aggressive nature of the cancer, the decision was taken to take the risk and get on with the chemo. She will be starting intensive chemotherapy mid January which will be fortnightly for six months. So, as you never know what's around the corner, I want to raise as much as possible for Cancer Research UK. Cancer doesn't care who it hits, but I do.
