Epic 24-Hour Motorcycle Challenge

Sun, 21 Jun 2026 - Sun, 21 Jun 2026

1000 miles in 24 hours on the longest day of the year. Land's End to John O’Groats on a shoestring budget motorcycle.

My Story

I’m taking on The Longest Day Up 2026 — a 1,000-mile ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats on the longest day of the year, and I’ll be doing it on a shoestring-budget motorcycle. Around 40 riders will be attempting the challenge, which is run entirely by volunteers. It’s a brilliant, slightly bonkers day out for a serious cause — and it’s designed to be tough, with a bit of real jeopardy thrown in. Cancer has cast its shadow over my family in more ways than one. My wife was treated for breast cancer in 2024; I lost a sister to childhood leukaemia; and my father-in-law is currently living with cancer. Seeing what cancer does to people and those around them is why this challenge matters so much to me. This ride is my way of turning those experiences into something positive — supporting the research that improves treatments, extends lives, and gives families hope. This won’t be an easy day. I’m expecting 20+ hours in the saddle on A and B roads, through whatever the weather decides to throw at us — rain or shine, and well into the night. And because the rules say the bike must cost no more than £600, it’s a test of both rider and machine. If you’re able to donate to my fundraiser I’d be hugely grateful — every donation goes directly to Cancer Research UK and helps to fund the research that will one day defeat cancer in all its forms.
