My Story
My Grandad was in a special trial to see if doctors can find cancer just from a blood test. On his last test, they found out he had cancer, and they even knew what type it was. A few weeks later, the hospital said he had bowel cancer. He didn’t feel ill at all. Because he did that trial, they found it early and took the tumour out. Now he is cancer‑free, and I’m so happy. I wish everyone could have blood tests like that, so cancer can be found early and more people can get better. That’s one of the reasons I’m raising money for Cancer Research UK. My godmother Lottie and my mum’s friend Alison both have breast cancer right now. They found lumps and went to get checked. They are being really brave while they have their treatment, and their families love them very much. Cancer is happening right now, and that’s why I’m doing Race for Life Pretty Muddy — to help raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime. Every pound you donate helps Cancer Research UK do amazing work. It helps people like my Grandad, and people like Lottie and Alison.
