My Story

Thanks for visiting my marathon donation page (something I never thought I’d be saying!) When the email landed in my inbox last July to say I got a place I felt extremely lucky but can’t deny, there was a definite feeling of “oh shit - now the hard work begins!” There was never a doubt that if I got a place, Cancer Research would be my chosen charity. Like many of us, the Big C has affected my family and I’ve seen first-hand the impact it can have when both my mum and dad were diagnosed. More recently, both Ky and I have lost aunts & uncles to cancer and know of family friends who have also suffered from this awful disease. So the last few months I’ve been following a training plan, getting on top of my fitness and pounding the pavements all in aid of this wonderful charity. I’m so grateful for the donations I have received and any amount no matter how big or small will keep me motivated in getting one step closer to that finish line.
