My Story
Our beautiful Mum (Nanny) was taken from us last year. She was was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2016 and despite treatment sadly the cancer progressed and in October 2017 we received the heartbreaking news that it could no longer be treated. She passed away on 15 June 2018. Mum was such a brave strong woman. She fought her illness with a huge amount of courage and dignity. Throughout her whole life she did everything for everyone, the most selfless person you would ever meet. She was always so full of life and energy and was taken from us all too soon. We have all struggled to come to terms with our loss, she was such a huge part of our lives and we miss her every day. Grief is such a rollercoaster of emotions and can be difficult for us adults to process, let alone children. We are running Race for Life for Nanny. We are running to raise money to help prevent other people from going through this in the future. We are running to try and help a 10 year old come to terms with the huge loss and sadness she is experiencing. Cancer is happening right now, which is why We are taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor us now.
