Falmouth 5k 2019

Sun 12 May 2019 - Sun 12 May 2019

I'm taking part in Race for Life to help raise money to help to beat cancer sooner, and after both my partner Arthur & my friend & colleague Rose were both diagnosed with rare blood cancers last year.

In memory of

Eileen Janes, Mary MacLeod, and many others who have touched our lives, and are no longer with us.

My Story

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in the Falmouth Race for Life 5k again, to raise money and help save lives, but this year, I am even more determined to do this, as my partner, Arthur, was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer in August last year; Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia, which is a Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, and is treatable, but currently incurable - Also my dear friend and ex work colleague Rose, who has also been diagnosed with a type of Blood cancer too, and is currently awaiting for a possible Stem Cell transplant, after undergoing much Chemotherapy, like my Arthur too. I would like to help to contribute to hopefully one day finding a cure for these and all cancers, and at the same time, would like to raise awareness of some of the rarer type of cancers such as these too. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please, if you can, will you sponsor me. Thank you.
