My Story
My daughter Isabel and I are doing the York 5K race. I know that 5K is nothing to some of you super-athletes but to a 10-year-old and a very unfit 40+ year old, it's the equivalent of a marathon! My mum (Isabel's Grandma) passed away earlier this year. While cancer was not the cited as the cause of death, I believe that the cancer she had a few years ago and the subsequent treatment took its toll on her body and exacerbated her other illnesses bring her physical demise forward by a good few years. Isabel wanted to do something to help, so that other little girls don't have to grow up without their Grandmas like her and her little sister will now have to. Please support us and help to demonstrate to children like Isabel how to develop a social awareness, that individuals can make a contribution, benefitting others and helping to make change happen. The early detection and diagnosis of cancer means that 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
