My Story

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. I am running Pretty Muddy with and to support my lovely friend Chell & her daughter Lauren. They are a beautiful family - the nicest, closest, most loving & supportive family you will ever meet❤️ Read Chell’s story... I feel it a privilege to take part in Pretty Muddy. 10 years ago my own daughter was fighting the horrendous disease. At the time of diagnosis (at 10 months old), we were given little hope of her survival. With great courage and hope, alongside a wonderful team of doctors and nurses, our daughter amazed everyone and within a year of starting treatment was in remission! Throughout all the operations, scans, procedures and treatments, our daughter continued smiling, she never gave up! When running the race for life, I will smile through the tough parts and remember- never give up! Whilst our daughter survived, my dearest grandma sadly lost her battle against cancer. I think of her everyday and hope to run the race in honour of what an inspirational grandma she always will be!! ❤️💖❤️💖 And I’m doing this for my big brother John Field and his wonderful family ❤️ John beat cancer too thank goodness👊🏼💙 Also for Kay Shields who started off just as my next door neighbour with her little boy Joe & Jessica Dewdrop the cocker spaniel... She turned out to be a great friend and companion, who was only over the fence. Sadly Kay didn’t beat cancer, even though she fought it bravely & courageously for many years - she was one tough cookie & I miss her... 💔 And for my most recent loss to cancer, Deborah Dalton, the best colleague and friend you could ever have - she loooooooooved everyone and was so, so funny 💔
