My Story
I am walking the shine half marathon for my mum, Pam, who is so strong snd has been so brave battling a rare form of lung cancer. She is my absolute inspiration and means the whole world to me. Having to watch someone you love so much have to battle this horrendous disease is heartbreaking and unfortunately its not the first time for me, my dad fought Lymphoma 6 years ago. I am walking to raise money to try and find a cure for this monsterous disease which no one should have to battle. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. CAUSE
Lung cancer
Each year more than 43,500 people are diagnosed with lung cancer in the UK. We urgently need to drive progress so that more people survive their disease. Cancer Research UK is at the forefront in lung cancer research and is funding various projects to tackle the disease head on. This includes the TRACERx study, Cancer Research UK’s largest investment into lung cancer to date. This study has already transformed our understanding of how lung cancer evolves and is continuing to shed light on how to prevent, detect and treat the disease.
