Ladies; do not underestimate the importance of your 3-year health screening! Sadly, we all know someone impacted by Cancer. 4 years ago one of my very best friends, someone very special to me, was diagnosed with Cancer. Thankfully, she was one of the lucky ones, she caught it early and after surgery has been cancer free since. In celebration of her 50th Birthday, on 22nd Sept. we're getting together to make a difference, raising money for this great cause. We're taking on the 'Shine Walk', stomping a Marathon distance (26-miles) across London - starting at 9pm and walking 8-9 hours, throughout the night. In an effort to really earn my share of the fundraising, I will also be taking part in the Dartmoor Sportive. On 1st July i'll be cycling 107 miles across a very hilly terrain, reaching over 10,090 ft of elevation (i've never cycled this ridiculous amount of hills before!), I may have bitten off more than I can chew - but i'll be giving it my best shot. Hoping to complete within 8-hours, no team but on my own! Unfortunately not everyone is lucky. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives.
