My Story

Some of you may know some of you may not but our lovely mum was diagnosed with cancer just over 4 weeks ago. Cancer effects people in all kinds of ways some cope, manage, get by and some don't Some people talk about it some people don't. As a family it has been the worst 4 weeks of our lives.. lots of tears and anger and the occasional giggle particularly when mum walked into the oncology department and the first thing she saw was a shop with wigs.. her face was a picture, those that know mum knows she hates having her hair cut and loves the "wild look". We have often tormented her about her mass of hair. We will know this week what stage we are dealing with and we then can begin to move forward with this cruel disease. As you know mum lost her mum and sister to this awful disease and is inevitably frightened. We are hoping for some positive news ? The race for life is a great opportunity to get families talking about Cancer and the rippling effects it can have, it is also a fantastic opportunity to get raising some pounds towards the research that's continually needed..
