Lisa's 2020 Race for Life

2020 has been an extraordinary year and one that many of us want to put behind us. During this time though, I have heard many positive stories of people taking control of their health and fitness. Like so many others, I too took the plunge, dug out some trainers and downloaded the Couch to 5k app. I went from hating every minute of it, to tolerating it, to almost looking forward to it. (Almost!) I now run 4 times a week and up to 10k. I feel healthier, fitter and glad I stuck with it. And now I can do something useful with it by running my first Race for Life! During the last 12-18 months my dad has gone through his own cancer journey. He has been incredibly strong and is definitely winning the battle. Thankfully his treatment was not impacted by Covid, as it finished a matter of days before lockdown. The work Cancer Research do is so invaluable and more important than ever right now, as clinical trials have been delayed and so many patients' treatment plans rescheduled. I would be incredibly grateful for whatever you can donate - maybe the price of that coffee you can't buy at the moment, or the car parking fee you haven't had to pay, or the loose change that's in your pocket right now?!
