I did the moonwalk night marathon a few years ago with my friend Claire and we didn't really enjoy it! There were too many people and it was so badly organised that just walking across the Thames took half hour at one point! So I had absolutely no inclination to do it again! Then last year my same friend and her mum both got diagnosed with Cancer. Luckily Claire is ok after treatment but her mum is still suffering. Claire wanted to do something positive this year to raise money for Cancer Research so she is doing a year of challenges, and for September she decided to do another night marathon and knowing how hard we found it last time there was no way I could let her go through that alone so I signed up to walk it with her. Unfortunately though she has gotten injured and there is no way she can do the full marathon now so we have decided to switch to the half marathon. I know this is not as challenging, but any pennies you are able to spare I would be so grateful to help me support my friend and most importantly raise money for a worthy cause. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives.
