My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. I have participated in both 5K & 10K races for this wonderful charity for many years now. Sadly my very close friend Steve lost his brave fight with cancer over the Easter period so I dedicate my efforts to him. I celebrate my 50th birthday the week before the event and I am requesting donations to two charities instead of gifts, one of these charities is Cancer Research UK, the other is Guide Dogs, so hopefully I'll be able to raise more money than ever this year. I will take part in this 10k for Cancer Research and the Great Manchester 10k on 28th May for Guide Dogs. I am pleased to say that I have completed the course today and managed to finish the 10k third so not bad for an old lady. I received more donations on the night of my party and will be updating my total in due course but raised well over £400 which is fabulous - many thanks. I will also be completing the 'let's get Muddy' event at Tatton in June along with Becky. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK. My other fundraising page is http://www.justgiving.com/Linda-Seymour3 so you can choose which charity you would like to support.
