My Story

This year I am 50, and this milestone in my life has made me think more about both the past and the future. I'm planning lots of special events and fun things to do throughout my birthday year, and also want to give something to a worthwhile cause. I have volunteered and organised fundraising for Cancer Research (UK) before, and was prompted initially to do so in memory of my Dad, so what better time to continue that in 2018. Last year I lost two stone and changed my eating habits, but when I started a new job which was just a short walk from my house (but long hours) I began to find it more difficult to do as much exercise as I would like. So when I heard about the #Walk1000Miles Challenge I realised this is something I can start now which will help me focus my exercise, and at the same time raise some much needed funds for Cancer Research (UK). As a fun addition to this I am also running a "Find the Food Sweepstake" where you can pick one of the foods on the sweepstake image for a donation of £2 (per food item), and the winner will receive £20!
