Linda's 10 Peaks in 10 Days Challenge

To celebrate our 10th anniversary, our Chief Executive, Dr Linda Harris, will be attempting ’10 Peaks in 10 Days’ starting June 18th What is the 10 Peaks Challenge? The Ten Peaks Challenge is a 17- mile guided walking challenge through the beautiful Lake District, taking in some of the UK’s highest peaks over 10 days. It’s a fantastic way to explore some of England’s most scenic countryside and attracts hundreds of tourists and walking groups each year. The types of walking challenge (and the prices) vary, but all volunteers need to have a reasonable level of physical fitness as the route involves sharp inclines and steep descents over rocky terrain. Linda says, “I’m doing the Ten Peaks Challenge to raise money for Cancer Research UK and to promote our fantastic 10- Year campaign. Having said I was ‘up for a challenge’ this year, I have had to start training. Those who know me know that I don’t go to the gym and I don’t play a sport. I have also never really been able to do fitness videos or engage with the myriad of exercise gurus on the internet … I am not fit! I would welcome some company every day as I am going to need lots of help and encouragement!
