Shine London 2018 - Full Marathon

My Story
Hey gang - I’m doing the Shine Night walk again! Having completed it in 2016, I found out that this year’s event is being held on 22nd September, so I couldn’t say no. You see, the 22nd September is my wonderful dad’s birthday. He’ll be turning 77. Yet a few years ago we weren’t sure how much longer we’d have him for, after he was diagnosed with bowel cancer. And a few years later my mum won her own cancer battle. Thanks to early detection and treatment, we get to celebrate this year. And I’ll be doing it by walking 26.2 miles around night-time London. Research into cancer is the reason I have both my parents here today. But too many people aren’t so lucky. So I’ll be walking for them too - I want to raise as much money as I can to make a big a difference as we can to survival rates. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
