Lesley's Race for Life

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm again taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. My dear friend,of 60 years, Mo died ten days before Christmas 2018 and eleven days before her fifth grand child was born. We were both diagnosed with cancer within months of each other in 2015, me with non hodgkin's lymphoma and her with lung cancer. Seems like I am the fortunate one, as I am now in remission, but sadly that was not to be for Mo - like so many others out there. The fight for cures continues and with your generous support we may get a little closer to those cancers that continue to beat us. I have made many friends along my cancer path and try to support the cause in as many ways as possible, including support groups, choir, 'Hope' training and various events. We are very fortunate here in Milton Keynes as later this year our new purpose built Cancer Unit will be opening saving numerous people from having to travel for their treatments. Remaining positive is key and living every day to its fullest will certainly be more achievable with the funding to support research into finding more cures for this ghastly disease. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
