2019 Paris Marathon
Sun 14 Apr 2019 - Sun 14 Apr 2019
In memory of
Mariyah Jasrai
On the 14th of April 2019 I will be running the Paris Marathon in Memory of the most beautiful, the most kindest and the bravest young lady; Mariyah Jasrai. Mariyah lost her long and aggressive fight to Ewing's Sarcoma on the 19th of April 2017. For 9 years Mariyah endured an endless amount of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery (both conventional and experimental). Despite the continuous pain, she kept her determination, will and her strong character. She was the heartbeat to her family, and the sparkle in her parents eyes. It doesn't matter how we try to look at the heart breaking situation... losing a child is indescribable. Every day parents relive the devastating fact that their child is no longer with them. Since working in PICU I have learnt that grieving parents fear that their child will be forgotten, like a dream that fades away. So on the 14th of April 2019, almost two years after we lost Mariyah, I will be running 26.2 miles to carry on her incredible memory. I will be running in Memory of Mariyah, but in aid of Cancer Research UK. Please help me raise money to fund further research, so we can beat cancer, and save more lives. From a nurse to all parents who have lost a child. Please know and believe that every child that leaves us is never forgotten! We remember their smile, we remember their bravery, we even remember their last breath. We will never forget them. That I promise you.
