My Story
Hello, thanks for coming to my page! Last year I was diagnosed with breast cancer. There are no words to describe how badly that sucked. I was 32, fit and healthy, no family history, nothing. It was an aggressive cancer, it grew during chemo... pretty terrifying. Still after 5 months of chemo, surgery and 25 radiotherapy blasts it was gone along with a year of my life, my hair, my fertility, my fitness, my confidence and independence. I was lucky. It took everything thing I had to complete treatment (cancer is the easy bit! It’s the treatment that makes you ill). I was lucky because my medical team had a plan and it worked. Not everyone has that. Cancer is becoming a common thing it’s easy to forget that it kills people, lots of people. What do you do when your world comes crashing down and there is nothing that they can do? Lots of people end up in this position. I’ve chatted to people in this position and chatted to people who are offered treatment which is funded by Cancer Research and it’s prolonged and improved their lives. It really does makes a difference. I’m no runner but I’m gonna walk this 5k... I did only finish treatment in December! I’m so determined and regardless how many times I have to sit down for a rest I will do it!! If you can donate it’s really appreciated and thank you so much for your generosity. Then, if you donated or not promise me you’ll check your boobs! Saving lives one boob at a time 🙂 Thank you Leigh x
