2021 Great North Run
Sun 12 Sep 2021
We've all heard it, 1 in 2 people get cancer. It will touch us all in some way. We want to play our small part in beating cancer by running the GNR and raising some money. Thank you for your support.
My father in law (Paula's dad) died from cancer in 2017, her nana in 2019. My own dad now has stage 4 cancer of the oesophagus. This is the 3rd time I'm doing the GNR and each time I've had another person to mention that's been impacted and that's just in my own family. I've seen the worst of what it can do to a person and to a family. I've also been impressed by the bravery shown by my own dad in how he's handled his own diagnosis and I swear that's why he's out living the doctors predictions. I've also heard many stories of people who have survived cancer. But even for those people and their families its tough. The reality is everyone will be touched by cancer. And if I can do something that will support and fund research in to cures and treatments, so less people suffer, then I will. If you want to help too, please donate to my page today (any amount is welcome) and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Ps. Paula (my wife is doing the GNR with me this year for the first time).
