My Story
In the Spring of 2013 I heard the words “it’s ovarian cancer” and the bottom fell out of my world. Fortunately for me and my family I was at a stage where it was very treatable and I’m blessed to be over 8 years cancer free - but there are literally thousands of women every year who are no so lucky. Ovarian cancer is the UK’s deadliest gynaecological disease, claiming the life of another woman in the UK every two hours. There’s currently no screening programme for ovarian cancer like there is with cervical and breast. The symptoms are often mistaken for less deadly illnesses such as IBS and so sadly people don’t get a diagnosis until it’s too late. That’s why the work of cancer charity’s are so fundamental in fighting cancer. Please, give what you can. Thank you ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
