My Story
This year is 10 years since my grandma passed away from cancer and 2 years since grandad. Not to mention all the other family and friends who have either passed or are continuing the fight. My grandparents both inspired me to be strong and "keep it up", whilst striving to do my best even in the shadow of doubt... and also have fun! Grandma was always learning new things and surprising me – I'll never forget how proud I was when I found out my Grandma could skip rope! My Grandad made me smile with his style and moves when we had house parties – very impressive! And the memories of us all playing Frustration, Grandma letting me try out funky canerows in her hair and playing along with Family Fortunes on TV in the living room will never leave me...I cherish those times! I'm doing this run for them, representing the grandchildren and the beautiful legacy they leave behind. I learnt so much from them both and their support was ALWAYS there, so I'm sure they will be right beside me in this challenge cheering (and probably laughing) for Team Confusion all the way to the finishing line. Please help me to make them proud and raise much needed funds to reduce the number of others who have to go through the same tragedy of either losing or watching loved ones suffer. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
